Stop Worrying About a Low GMAT Score

By making peace with the possible, you do your best to not make it more probable.

A lot of test-takers are entirely uncomfortable with the idea of getting a low score on the GMAT. Because they resist this outcome so strongly, their minds constantly fixate on it, asking: "What if that happens?"

A low score is always a possibility, regardless of how much you dread it. But does constantly worrying about that failure make it less likely to occur? No. In fact, it makes it more likely to occur because you are consuming your time and energy on fear rather than devoting it to your actual preparation.

Fixating on a negative outcome is not just useless; it is actively harmful. You can choose a different approach: accept that a lower score is a possibility, recognize that you do not want it to happen, and then firmly pivot your focus back to the study process. By making peace with the worst-case scenario, you stop making it more probable, freeing yourself to do your best work.
