Stay Where You Are - The Sewol Ferry Students (2014)

On April 16, 2014, the MV Sewol began to list off the southwest coast of South Korea. 476 people were aboard. Most were 16-year-old students from Danwon High School on a field trip. The captain ordered them to stay in their cabins, then changed into civilian clothes and got on the first rescue boat to arrive. The ferry took more than two hours to sink. 304 people died. 250 of them were the students.

The Somber Archive tells the stories of those who were right too soon, recognized too late, or forgotten entirely.
