Deck Rebuild Post-Demo: What We Found Under the Old Deck | Salt to Summit

After tearing down the old deck, we’re taking a closer look at what was hiding underneath. In this post-demo walkthrough, we show the exposed framing, soil contact areas, and remnants of the original build — including what went wrong and how we’ll correct it moving forward.

Our next steps will include removing the remaining footings and preparing the site for new, code-compliant foundations and framing. Every deck we rebuild starts with a clean slate — one that’s strong, dry, and built to last for decades in Utah’s climate.
