100 Years of Rust Erased: Restoring an Antique Handsaw to Its Original Glory!

In this video, I take on the challenge of restoring a century-old, rusty handsaw that I recently dug up in my yard. Join me as I walk you through every step of this DIY restoration process, bringing new life to this forgotten tool. Starting with citric acid to remove layers of rust, I let the blade soak for 24 hours, followed by a rinse in a baking soda and water solution to neutralize the acid.
Then, I sand down the surface with a flat sander to reveal the clean metal underneath, finishing with a protective coat of machine oil. Next, I sketch and craft a brand-new walnut wood handle, using only basic tools for an authentic DIY experience. After carefully cutting a slot in the handle to fit the blade, I attach it securely and apply an oil finish to protect the wood. Finally, I sharpen the blade with a file to restore its cutting power, achieving incredible results!
