Sermoneta, Italy 💕

Sermoneta is a quaint, walled, hill town, located in the Province of Latina, Italy.
As we enjoyed walking around, tasting the delights of the food, juices, and (certainly) the gelato, we were welcomed by the friendly people of the commune. A bit of history of this town includes a 13th-century Romanesque cathedral called Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and a huge castle, built by the Caetani family. The Caetani Castle of Sermoneta Italy was built for the Annibaldi family in the early 13th Century and designed as a military bastion fortress.
The experience in this Medieval village will give one the feeling of nostalgia yet still pulling from the cloth of the present.
A side note for those that love to indulge in reading-This quaint village referred to as "Sulmo in Antiquity" is mentioned in Virgil's "The Aeneid"
