Reviewing the tiramisu from Blanchette in Santacruz (Tiramisu Wars Season 2 EP. 9)

Have you tried the filter kaapi tiramisu from Blanchette by Chef @biancamanik ?

Got to say, once again this was a highly requested tiramisu review. I've actually had quite a few items from the Blanchette menu in the past and quite enjoyed it though at some point a couple of the orders started tasting of freezer burn. But I approached this tiramisu with a clean slate. Overall it was a pretty good tasting tiramisu, the coffee flavour comes through. It's also the first tiramisu we had with 3 layers instead of two and that just means it feels like more tiramisu. The one problem I had with this was the house made savoiardi which tends to not have the same enjoyable texture as the store bought ones making the tiramisu almost a little bready. I had this same issue with the tiramisu from Qe by Kashmira who makes hers in house as well and if you told me both of them used the same recipe as well I'd not doubt it.

Obviously the trade off is that the cost can be kept down making it in house so I understand the reason. It's not a huge problem and I think the average person will not really have an issue but if we're breaking it down to the most minute details this aspect of the recipe could use some tweaking. But otherwise a solid tasty tiramisu that I rated 8.6/10
