Warbird action from the 2019 RAAF Edinburgh Airshow

The Royal Australian Air Force hosted the Australian Defence Force Air Show on the 9th & 10th Nov 2019 at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia.The two day event was breathtakingly packed with hours of exhilarating aerial displays from the latest 5th Gen F-35A Fighter to the vintage aircraft like the Spitfire and Hurricane of yesteryear.The Theme of the Air Show is ‘Vimy to Fifth Generation in 100 years’, commemorating the centenary of the epic flight of the Vickers Vimy from England to Australia flown by South Australians Sir Ross Smith and his brother, Sir Keith Smith.It was a great opportunity for everyone including, families, veterans, aviation and military fans to see what goes on behind the scenes and fences of our front line and cutting edge Defence Force.
In this clip, ASO's videographer had the honour of filming some of the current flying examples of warbirds flying in Australia, including the famed private aerobatic team, The Russian Roolettes operating their Nanchang CJ-6 and Yak-52 aircraft, Jeff Trappett and his CAC CA-18 Mustang, plus Mustang Flights Australia and their CA-18 Mustang ‘Snifter’, in formation with Temora’s Spitfire, and the Scone based Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk, from Vintage Fighter Restorations.
