Difference between Stirrups, Ties, and Spiral reinforcement
This lecture explains the main difference between stirrups, ties, and spiral reinforcement. All three reinforcement comes under the category of transverse reinforcement. Stirrups are the transverse reinforcement when they are used in beams, Ties are the transverse reinforcement when they are used in rectangular or square column and spiral reinforcement are the transverse reinforcement when they are used in a circular column.
