Know Yourself: The Universal Search for Meaning - Fides et Ratio - Part 2

Welcome back to our series on Fides et Ratio! In this video, we dive into the ancient command carved on the temple portal at Delphi: "Know yourself".

We explore how the fundamental questions of human existence—Who am I? Where do I come from? Why is there evil?—transcend all cultural boundaries, appearing in the sacred writings of Israel, ancient Greece, and Eastern traditions like India's Veda.

However, modern philosophy has largely abandoned this search for ultimate truth.

Preferring to focus on the limitations of human knowing, our culture has retreated into relativism, skepticism, and narrow technical fields.

We discuss why this shift leaves humanity stumbling at the edge of a bottomless abyss and how we can recover our direction.
