Kerio valley drought

Desperate residents of Kerio Valley in Elgeyo Marakwet, have resorted to boiling wild fruits to ease biting hunger which has hit the area for months now.
According to the residents, insecurity and bandit attacks along river Kerio stifled food production this year after many farmers abandoned their farms fearing for their safety.
