Going the Green Way | Meenakshi Bharath | TEDxRVCE
Dr. Meenakshi Bharath has been a gynaecologist and fertility specialist for almost three decades now and is also a green campaigner. She advocated for Clean India much before the Swachh Bharat campaign started and championed many initiatives. Dr Bharath’s current project is “Green The Red” campaign, under which she is advocating “sustainable menstruation practices -menstrual cups and cloth pads” to empower women through their difficult times during their periods. With the advent of industrialization and globalisation, mankind has distanced himself from nature and is now facing the consequences. Dr Meenakshi Bharath's speech encapsulates the need to make our events and surroundings environmentally sustainable while being viable economically. Providing her experience of organizing, hosting and creating a complete green event, Dr. Bharath persuades one and all to make the events and festivities with our generating garbage -green.
