Meet an important herb ally of the mountains - Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens).

The Southern Appalachian Mountains are the one of the oldest mountain chains in the world. These mountains are a temperate decidous rainforest and support the greatest diversity of plants.

I am beyond grateful that my journey to becoming a botanist was formed here. These mountains are a refuge for my mind, body, and soul.
