سامر طوطح صانع وأستاذ آلة العود في المعهد الوطني | Samer Totah Oud Maker and Teacher

بدأ سامر طوطح، صانع الأعواد الفلسطيني وأستاذ آلة العود في معهد إدوارد سعيد الوطني للموسيقى، رحلته الموسيقية بتعلّم العزف على يد الموسيقي الفلسطيني عيسى بولُص، وهو في عمر 18 عامًا… ومن هناك، بدأت الحكاية.
بخلفيته في مهنة النجارة، وجد طريقه نحو صناعة الأعواد اليدوية، ليبدأ رحلته بشكل ذاتي امتدت لسبع سنوات من التجريب والتطوير، ثم سافر إلى تركيا من خلال المعهد ليتعلم من أحد أبرز صنّاع الأعواد، فاروق تورونز.
واليوم، يُعرف سامر بلمسته الخاصة، ويفضّل صناعة العود الدمشقي الأصيل، لما يحمله من نكهة صوتية قريبة من وجدان بلاد الشام.
📍 في ورشة معهد إدوارد سعيد في بيرزيت، لا يقتصر عمل سامر على صناعة الأعواد، بل يُصلّح مختلف الآلات الوترية من كمانجات، إلى قوانين، وكونتراباص، وغيرها.

Samer Totah, a Palestinian oud maker and teacher at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, began his musical journey at the age of 18, learning to play the oud under the guidance of renowned Palestinian musician Issa Boulos — and that’s where the story began.
With a background in carpentry, Samer found his way into the world of handcrafted oud making. He taught himself over a period of seven years through trial and error. Later, through the Conservatory, he traveled to Turkey to train with one of the country’s top oud makers, Faruk Turunz.
Today, Samer is known for his unique craftsmanship and prefers to make the traditional Damascene oud, admired for its rich and authentic sound, deeply rooted in the musical heritage of the Levant.
📍 At the Edward Said Conservatory workshop in Birzeit, Samer not only crafts ouds but also repairs a wide range of string instruments — from violins and qanuns to double basses and more.
