🐝 Kendrick Henry started beekeeping on other peoples' properties in 2014. Now, after taking a beekeeping course at USF Botanical Gardens and finding a more permanent location for his Queen Bees, Kendrick is caring for several beehives at Numa Farms & Nursery in Plant City, FL.

🌿 An easy-to-build homemade honey extractor using only a few local materials.

🌴 The prototype utilizes standardized honey frames fastened to a simple wooden brace that spins inside of a 30 gallon barrel. In turn, releasing the fresh honey.

🌲 Together with a handheld drill and a 25” threaded rod, the honey frames are held in
place by 2 lateral braces made from hardwood.

🌱 They have cut outs at each end to fit the honey frames and are held in place with a metal wire. Hexagon nuts on the threaded rod allow the braces to be adjusted very easily.

🥒 Lower the honey frames into the barrel and spin until the honey has been fully extracted.
