Turkish Minister Şimşek promotes Turkey at Lib Dem fringe meeting

Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek spoke of Turkey's booming economy at a fringe meeting on Sunday held by the Liberal Democrats Friends of Turkey at the Autumn Liberal Democrat Conference.



Along with a distinguished panel of members of the Liberal Democrat Party and Weekly Zaman Editor-in-Chief Bülent Keneş, Mr Şimşek addressed the audience on the importance of Turkey's new status as an emerging economy in the world. "A lot of people talk about China, Brazil and India, but Turkey is in Europe. We could help Europe [remain] a world player," he said at the Zaman-sponsored meeting.
