Switzerland 🇨🇭 has launched a direct summer train 🚄 to the South of France. The service, operated by TGV Lyria, is running now (as of May 30, 2026) between French-speaking Switzerland 🇨🇭 and several destinations in southern France. 🇫🇷

The service runs from April 16 to November 2, 2026 on Thursdays through Mondays. During the peak summer season, from June 27 to August 23, the trains operate daily.

⚠️ Important Service Interruption
There is a service interruption from July 27 to August 16, 2026, due to construction work at La Plaine station near Geneva.

During these dates, the direct TGV will only run as far as Annemasse (just across the French border). Passengers will need to change trains there to continue their journey, using connecting regional services like the Léman Express.

Tickets are already on sale through both the SNCF Connect and SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) websites. Fares start from 28 CHF in Standard class if booked in advance.
