Learn how to make family accounts on a PS5 console. These accounts are required to shop in the PlayStation Store and to play online multiplayer games. First you’ll see how parents can create their account for PlayStation Network. Then you’ll see how to create an account for your child. This will give you parental controls over your child’s account, allowing you to manage their experience on PS5 and their online experience on PlayStation Network. You’ll be able to adjust the privacy settings for your child’s account, set a play time schedule for them, set a monthly spending limit, and more!

Each account requires a unique email address, so you’ll need separate email addresses for yourself and your child.

As a parent, PlayStation Store digital purchases made by your child’s account will be charged to the primary payment method for your account. A charge of $0.50 will be applied to the primary payment method for your account the first time you add a child account. This is for verification purposes only, and the funds will be added to the digital wallet for your account so you can spend them in the PlayStation Store.
