Why AWS Backup Must Be Native

Leveraging AWS-native backup solutions provides the capabilities to recover workloads without the need for cumbersome restore procedures. While agents have been the go-to backup solution in the cloud for a number of years, with the introduction of PaaS and mission-critical workloads running natively in AWS, having a solution that can not only protect instances and virtual machines but also the core platform is essential. Protecting AWS VPC configuration data, or RDS instances, is something that a traditional backup agent cannot do.
