Transition for TIGHT lower back & hammies!

We often glorify the transition of hopping to the top of our mat during transitions within our yoga practice. It's gotten to the point that we ignore the tension in the backs of the legs and bypass opportunities to create space and opening by favouring the option to hop/jump from downward dog to the top of the mat. For MOST people, the functional benefits of releasing hamstrings and lower back goes far beyond that of hopping forward...unless of course you are a hand balancing circus performer. So, if you're looking to get a bit more opening thorough your back body AND build up trunk muscles in the process, try this optional transition and let me know how it goes!
