DIY BMW X5 35d DPF Delete & Tune! (M57 E70 Downpipe Hack)

​We walk you through every single step of the process, including a massive budget-saving trick: installing an M57 BMW 335d sedan downpipe onto the X5 SUV. Spoiler alert—it bolts up perfectly with just one minor tweak!

​We also run into a common snag with the EGT sensor seating into the new downpipe bung, but we show you exactly how to fix it on the spot. To wrap it all up, we flash a DUDMD Stage 2+ engine tune and a Stage 3 xHP Transmission tune, followed by a test drive to see how this beast reacts.

​🛠️ Step-by-Step Breakdown In This Video:

​Preparation: Removing engine covers and the intake to clear up space in the engine bay.
​Underneath: Dropping the undercarriage trays to get access.

​Electrical & Emissions: Disconnecting the O_2 sensor, knock sensor, DEF level sensor, EGT sensor, and unbolting the low-pressure EGR system.

​Custom Mod: Fabricating and installing a custom EGR block-off plate for the big turbo.

​The Extraction Trick: Using a hacksaw to cut the factory DPF at the flex pipe, removing the motor mount bracket and motor mount, and safely supporting/jacking the engine from underneath to snake the massive factory DPF out.

​The Install: Bolting up the 335d downpipe and overcoming the EGT sensor bung issue.
​Tuning: Flashing the DUDMD Stage 2+ tune and xHP Stage 3 transmission tune.

​First Drive: Hitting the road to feel the insane torque and new exhaust note!
