Seal challenges "the Shooter's" account of Osama bin Laden shooting

Details in the account of the Osama bin Laden killing published in this month's Esquire Magazine are being disputed by another member of the Navy SEAL team in charge of the mission.

The version in Esquire, written by Phil Bronstein, is told by "the Shooter", the man believed to be the last person to have seen bin Laden alive. According to him, he followed the man called "the Point" up the stairs to the third floor where bin Laden was killed. Osama bin Laden popped his head out from a curtain, the "the Point" took a shot at him, then ran in, rushing two women in the hall. This cleared a path for "the Shooter" to enter the bedroom where he found bin Laden, standing behind his young wife, Amal. He claims that he saw a gun within reach and when bin Laden pushed Amal in front of him, he shot him twice in the forehead.

Other SEALs there agree that "the Point" threw himself on the two women after taking a shot at bin Laden. However, they claim that "the Point" successfully shot bin Laden, taking him down. "The Point" found the two women inside the bedroom, gathered them him his arms for fear that might be wearing explosive vests, then two other men came in and shot the wounded bin Laden, who was at this point lying on the floor, in the chest.
