Many people think that autopilot is only for complex IFR flying. It's not. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to use the G1000 autopilot for everyday VFR flights in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 — from stable climbouts to hands-free sightseeing to stabilized visual approaches. We fly the Cessna 172 around the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown San Francisco, covering HDG, FLC, ALT, VS, and VNV modes step by step.
