In the video I'll show you how to create stunning metallic leaf backgrounds using a gel printing plate—without any adhesive! In this mixed media art tutorial, I'll show you one of my favorite gel printing techniques for transferring metallic leaf with acrylic paint to create rich, shimmering backgrounds for collage, art journals, handmade cards, and mixed media artwork.

The secret is patience. By allowing the acrylic paint to dry completely before pulling the print, the metallic leaf transfers beautifully to the paper, creating a luminous surface full of texture and visual interest. In this tutorial, I'll also demonstrate how to layer a stencil pattern over the metallic background to add depth, design, and complexity to your finished print.
