Yahoo Finance | The Case for SpaceX as a Long-Term Infrastructure Investment

Chad Anderson joined Yahoo Finance to push back on the idea that SpaceX is three disconnected businesses bolted together. His argument: launch enabled Starlink, Starlink is now going after broadband and direct-to-cell (two massive telco markets) and SpaceX is extending that same platform into orbital data centers and AI infrastructure. Owning the infrastructure is the moat. It has played out over 20 years, and it is playing out again.

The $5 billion in losses last year? The Anthropic and Google deals alone cover that in two months. SpaceX is not going public to cash out. They are going public to raise capital for the infrastructure investments that will drive the next phase of growth.

The milestones Chad is watching: Starship coming online, V3 satellites enabling direct-to-cell, and the early innings of the AI infrastructure buildout, a market that, in his view, is still nowhere near its peak.
