BX23 Sub-Compact Tractor Review: Unveiling the Versatility"
"Hey there, fellow tractor enthusiasts! Welcome back to the channel. Today, we're diving deep into my three-year journey with the BX23 sub-compact tractor. I'm excited to share my experiences, lessons learned, and some game-changing tricks that have made my life a whole lot easier."
"Let's kick things off by exploring what I used the BX23 tractor for. Brand new in 2020, I put on 600 hours. I've put it through its paces, and here's what I've discovered."
The BX23s is a small but powerful machine. My 3-acre property is just right for this tractor, and I use it to its full capacity. here are a few things the BX23 has help me with.
Building a pond. Don’t let the size of this tractor fool you. It can move a lot of dirt.
Here is the tapered spillway. The bridge went in just in time for the first skate.
I also built this vibrating rock separator. You can watch this video here.
The rocks go here and perfectly sifted soil here.
With this tractor you can move all sorts of things like a boat, or a shed. I use it to load firewood inside. This sub compact tractor can fit in places that the larger tractors cannot.
The Mower Deck Dilemma "My first lesson? Always consider the accessories. I skipped out on the mower deck when I bought my BX23, relying on my old 42-inch deck tractor for mowing duties. Big mistake! Even though the two had similar horsepower, the bx23 was a true workhorse. So, I eventually got a 60-inch mid-mount mower – not brand new, but it did the job splendidly." I mow in 2-wheel drive so the r4 tires won’t tear up the grass. There is more than enough power to mow in high range. I did not want another mower like a zero turn that you need to use two hands at all the time. Twice the maintenance and you need twice the space for both machines. The power steering and tilt steering wheel make mowing a breeze.
"Imagine this BX23 as a Swiss army knife on wheels. With quick disconnects, swapping out the backhoe and loader became a breeze. The mower deck installation was a bit trickier, but then I discovered a smarter way. Instead of dragging it under the tractor, I now position it with a nifty trick.
I highly recommend a dolly for the backhoe. Removal only takes a few minutes.
The loader is just as quick. Just release the kickstand, release the locks.
Now to remove the mower deck first I install the bucket.
Disconnect the pins and the PTO shaft, and the front bracket. Rase the deck linkage up.
Using some plywood to protect the surfaces. When I lift the tractor up, I drive slightly forward so the bucket stays 90 degrees to the ground. Then with the brake on the deck just rolls out.
I use the backhoe and loader so much I remove the deck after every time I mow.
Check out this genius storage solution. Two pipes slipped over the wheel shafts of the deck turn it into a mobile and easily storable unit. No need for big dollies or complex contraptions – sometimes simplicity wins." This not only is a great way to store the deck out of the way, but it makes it so much easier for cleaning and maintenance.
And there you have it, folks – my three-year review of the BX23 sub-compact tractor. From mowing magic to streamlined deck installation, this tractor has truly made my life a whole lot easier. Thanks for joining me on this journey, and as always, don't forget to hit that like button and subscribe for more tractor adventures.
