New Nurse Anxiety | New Nurse Graduate Advice for Stress & Anxiety

New nurse graduates will experience "new nurse anxiety" during some point while on the job. It is most common to experience anxiety as a new nurse during the first 6 months to year of being a nurse. The anxiety seems to start at the beginning of orientation (because you are new) then decrease during orientation and peaks when orientation is over (when you're on your own as a nurse). In this video, I'm going to talk about what causes new nurse anxiety (feeling overwhelmed with the new environment/people, feeling not confident in performing skills, harming a patient unintentionally, dealing with chaos like balancing patient loads, completing paperwork, communicating with members of the healthcare team etc.) and how to deal with anxiety so you don't become burnt out and possibly leave the nursing profession.
