In this we video, we have discussed on how to repair the broken chain of hyper-v VM snapshots or the following issues :

"Failed to Power on with Error 'The chain of virtual hard disk's is corrupted. A differencing disk is indicated in its own parent chain.'

Repair a broken Hyper-V snapshot chain .

We used MS tool vhdtool.exe to repair the broken chain. Please find the link below to download this tool.

The chain is usually broken when you accidentally expand the size of base vhd. When this happens, child vhd is still referring to the old size of the vhd and thus fail to connect to its parent vhd.
vhdtool.exe /repair - this switch corrects the base vhd size and thus fix the broken chain.
