Does a Small TB add torque?

Does a smaller throttle body increase torque? The simple answer is no (except possibly on individual throttles blade per runner). The myth is smaller opening increases velocity and cylinder filling. The problem with this internet level of understanding is that is even if the velocity changed through the throttle body, that velocity does not continue past the common plenum, through the intake port, the head port and into the combustion chamber. Typically throttle body size only alters airflow and is most prevalent at higher rpm where airflow demands are greatest. FYI-Bigger throttle bodies don’t hurt torque for the same reason!
