Trump sets Thanksgiving ultimatum for Ukraine to agree to his plan to end war

For the past month, the Trump administration has been quietly drafting a 28-point plan to end Russia's war in Ukraine, one Ukrainian officials view as nothing short of surrender.
During a radio interview on Friday, President Donald Trump confirmed he gave Ukraine until next Thursday to agree to this plan.
“You know, I’ve had a lot of deadlines, but if things are working well, you tend to extend the deadlines, but Thursday, we think, an appropriate time," Trump said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said pressure on his country is at an all-time high and that the American plan puts them in a lose-lose situation.
"Ukraine may now face a very difficult choice: either the loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner; or 28 difficult points, or an extremely harsh winter," Zelenskyy said in a national address Friday.
The plan includes an expectation that Russia won't invade neighboring countries, unspecified security guarantees for Ukraine and Russia's reintegration into the global economy. Where the plan becomes unacceptable for the Ukrainians–and European allies–is in its requirement that Ukraine make massive territorial concessions, including land Russia hasn't even invaded; a prohibition on Ukraine joining NATO; and a commitment from NATO not to expand further, just to name a few.
