Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart have paid the price for Rangers’ dismal start to the season after being sacked by Ibrox chief Andrew Cavenagh.

The pair were responsible for this summer’s hiring of Russell Martin as gaffer and a £40million squad revamp.
