How to use a Double Lumen Endotracheal Tube

This was something that confused the junk out of me when I was first presented with it, and once it made sense, I wanted to share it so others would understand it the same way. Double lumen endotracheal tubes are commonplace in thoracic surgery because they allow us to isolate the lung the surgeon is working on and prevent inflation and deflation. In this video I explain how inflating each of the cuffs as well as where to clamp allows for single lung ventilation!
