Will Solids or Rice Cereal Help Baby Sleep Through the Night? (The Truth) | Little Big Dreamers

If you've ever been told to add rice cereal to your baby's bottle or start solids early to help them sleep through the night - you are not alone. It is one of the most common pieces of baby sleep advice passed down through generations of well-meaning family members and friends.

But there is no evidence that starting solids or rice cereal helps babies sleep through the night.

And I can tell you this not just as a certified Family Sleep Consultant - but as a mum of two boys with completely different sleep stories:
👦 My older son slept through the night before he was even old enough to start solids.
👦 My younger son didn't sleep through until quite a while after solids were well underway.

Same mum. Same home. Same approach. Two completely different timelines - and food played no role in either of them.
