Over the past few years, as OpenStack has matured to handle a wide variety of customer use cases, the necessity of the platform to scale has never been greater. Customers rely on OpenStack to provide a secure, robust and flexible cloud to host cloud-native applications, and with greater adoption, we also see the cloud-native need for customers to deploy larger and larger clusters. TripleO is one of the most robust and flexible deployment tools for OpenStack, but in the past there have been concerns about scalability, With that said, the Red Hat Performance & Scale Team has been on a mission over the last year to push TripleO scale to new limits, starting from the Queens release and all the way up to Ussuri. In this talk, we will discuss our journey to scale Tripleo OpenStack Ussuri to over 700+ overcloud compute nodes in a single cluster, setting a new record.

Speakers: Pradipta Sahoo, Sai Sindhur Malleni
