In 18th-century Amsterdam, two sisters, Helena and Dina, lived near Zeedijk Street. Dina was gentle and kind, while Helena was passionate and envious. Both caught the eye of a handsome sailor named Wouter, but it was Dina who won his heart.
Helena, consumed by jealousy, intercepted Wouter's love letters to Dina, burning them to sever their bond. When Dina discovered this betrayal, a fierce argument ensued. In a fit of rage, Helena push3d Dina into the tannery's cellar and left her there. Days later, finding Dina still alive, Helena end3d her life to cover up the crime.
Helena deceived everyone, including Wouter, whom she eventually married. But guilt haunted her. On her deathbed in 1753, she confessed to the murder. Wouter, horrified, curs3d her soul to wander eternally and left her…
Exactly a century later, on July 24, 1853, locals reported hearing eerie screams from the alley. Since then, many claim to see Helena's restless spirit roaming Spooksteeg, mourning her sister and seeking redemption.
