Lets make Homemade Crumpets, whilst waffling

It's easy to buy Crumpets but seeing how I've never made before, I thought I'd give them a whirl (Using a online Recipe). Recipe makes about 12 Crumpets.

Ingredients;

470g Plain Flour
2 1/2 Tsp Dried Yeast
240ml Warm Water
240ml Warm Milk
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
2 Tsp Sea Salt
2 Tsp Caster Sugar
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
60ml Warm Water (For dissolving the Baking Powder)
Oil to Grease the Pan

Utensils;

Steel Rings (Preferably the same size) about 2.6 inches in diameter

Method;

Using the 240ml of warm Water stir in the Yeast and allow sit for 5-10mins

In the 240ml of warm Milk, add the Butter, Salt, Sugar and stir

Dissolve the Baking Powder in the 60ml of warm Water

Into a reasonbly sized bowl add the Flour

Once the time is up from the Yeast add to the Milk mix and stir

Add the wet ingredients to the Flour and stir until smooth, this includes the Baking Powder slurry

Place a cover over the bowl and let it stand for 30mins (I just covered with a plate)

Place a Pan on the stove to heat through, I've got induction so i warmed it through on a 4, so a low medium if cooking with gas

After 30 minutes, Grease pan and Rings and place them in the pan, allow the Rings to get some heat to them before adding the Batter mix, fill the Rings about half way up the sides, cover with a lid and let cook until the tops have their signature bubbles and aren't stodgy

Flip an cook tops for a bit of colour, then place on cooling racks and serve however you like your Crumpets

*Note*

It has a rather thick consistency, even after I added a bit more warm Water they came out just fine, not quite as many air pockets as a (traditional Crumpet) so I may have to tweak something either to the Recipe or the Method but still tasted delicious.
