Here's the 4 steps I covered for the setup:

STEP 1 — Create your Private Integration Token in GHL

GHL → Settings → Private Integrations → Create New Integration

Name it: "Claude Code MCP"

Select these permission scopes:
✓ View Locations
✓ View / Edit Contacts
✓ View Pipelines
✓ View / Edit Opportunities
✓ View Conversations
✓ View / Edit Tags
✓ Edit Calendars
✓ View Custom Fields

Copy the token. Treat it like a password — never paste
it in Slack, email, or a shared doc.

STEP 2 — Get your Location ID
GHL → Settings → Business Profile → Location ID

Copy it. You'll need it in the next step.
STEP 3 — Add the MCP config to Claude Code

Open your terminal and run:

claude mcp add --transport http gohighlevel \
https://services.leadconnectorhq.com/mcp/ \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_PIT_TOKEN" \
--header "Version: 2021-07-28"
STEP 4 — Test the connection

Open Claude Code terminal and type:

"List my 5 most recent contacts in GoHighLevel"

If names come back — you're connected. Done.
