Day 5 of Bulldozing the Road to Pohoiki ~ 10/23/18

Continued work bulldozing the Red Road (highway 137) in Puna, Hawaii. This is aerial footage of day 5 of the work.

Contractors for the county of Hawaii began the process of bulldozing lava that covered highway 137. This road will give access to several dozen homes that still stand between the lava flows that cut access off to famed Pohoiki Bay and covered the coastal subdivisions that include Ahalanui county park, Kapoho Beach lots and Wai Opae marine sanctuary. Many mahalo go out to the crew and county for making this happen.
