Taxpayers front ‘some 200 million’ a year for Eraring coal-fired power station

Sky News host Peta Credlin says taxpayers paying “some 200 million” dollars a year to keep Eraring Power Station open shows wind and solar are “deeply implausible”.

“We cannot keep the lights on without keeping coal in our power grid,” Ms Credlin said.

“Why else would New South Wales taxpayers be contributing some 200 million a year to keep the giant Eraring coal-fired power station open and going for at least another two years … shows claims about the cheapness and reliability of wind and solar, are, to put it kindly, deeply, deeply implausible.”
