Deploying Containers into K3D on Windows (Docker Desktop)

We need to set up and deploy containers into a K3D cluster running on Windows, using Docker Desktop as the underlying container engine. The goal is to run a K3D-based Kubernetes environment on Windows and successfully deploy and manage Docker containers within it.

Requirements:

Environment:

Windows 10
Docker Desktop installed and running
K3D (K3s lightweight Kubernetes) cluster set up
Tasks:

Ensure Docker Desktop is configured properly with WSL 2 backend.
Create a K3D cluster using Docker Desktop as the container engine.
Build or pull the necessary Docker images.
Deploy the Docker containers into the K3D cluster.
Validate successful deployment of the containers and ensure they are functioning correctly.
Expected Outcome:

A fully functioning K3D Kubernetes cluster running Docker containers on Windows.
