You might be living in Turkey or studying or working in Turkey, let's study Turkish and enhance our Turkish vocabulary while learning Turkish grammar. Past tenses in Turkish divided into two, therefore we will focus on 'Direct and Indirect Simple Past Tenses'. To give you a hint, indirect past tense is for the things you haven't seen or experienced, but you have heard, so it is reported speech for past events. Your new Turkish teacher will make sure that you understand the difference between these two tenses by providing loads of examples while making positive, negative, positive question and negative question sentences.

To provide further detail, actually in Turkish the Tenses divided into two; Simple Tenses and Compound Tenses. Past Tenses are also divided into two;
1- Definite / Known / Direct Simple Past Tense . This tense uses the suffix "-di" and therefore, it is also called in Turkish as "Di'li Geçmiş Zaman".
2- Indirect / Heard / Reported Simple Past Tense. This tense uses the suffix "-miş" and therefore, it is called as "Miş'li Geçmiş Zaman".
