"Tools for organising online digital making competitions," presented by YJ Soon

In April and May, Singapore went into a "circuit breaker" lockdown, with classes going online, school holidays brought forward, and events cancelled. What YJ learned in the following months, though, is that students are still hungry to continue learning and creating with technology, even with extensive social distancing measures in place. With the support of the Singapore government and Microsoft, YJ and his team brought "together" over a thousand students to make and create with micro:bit and code in all-online competitions, the scale of which would not have previously been possible at in-person events. In this session, he will share more about the tools, processes, and lessons from organising these events in this new age of online classes and video calls.
