Replit founder Amjad Masad says stop learning to code as AI builds apps instead

Amjad Masad, the Palestinian Jordanian American entrepreneur behind Replit, argues the era of learning to code may be fading as artificial intelligence begins building software directly from prompts.

Replit’s growth illustrates the shift. After years stuck near $2.8 million in revenue, the company surged to about $240 million once it launched an AI agent allowing non engineers to create applications.

Today more than half of Replit’s business users are not developers but marketers, product managers and designers, highlighting how AI tools are removing coding barriers and reshaping who can build software.
