Straight Talk for Women: Setting the Rules for Sex, Relationships and Career by Suzanne Venker

Straight Talk for Women: Setting the Rules for Sex, Relationships and Career by Suzanne Venker | Author and Columnist
If you’re a young woman in the 21st century, you no doubt enjoy an abundance of support and guidance with respect to your professional endeavors—as you should. What you likely do not receive is any positive direction for what will someday collide with those professional endeavors and have the single greatest effect on your happiness and well-being: marriage and family. In the age of equality, we pretend that women don’t care about love and commitment, that they can move in and out of meaningless sexual relationships with no repercussions. We pretend that most women don’t want to get married, and that a woman’s response to having a baby won’t be fierce, intense and unique to her as a woman. But beneath all this pretending lies the truth: modern women, though smart and successful, are cycling through relationships, accumulating emotional scars as they become increasingly cynical about men and marriage. Then, around the age of 30, they feel internal pressure to “hurry up and find a husband” in order to have kids, which all too often results in marrying the wrong man. It’s time for women to ditch this ill-fated plan and adopt a whole new roadmap for life and love.
Suzanne Venker is an author, columnist and relationship coach known as The Feminist Fixer. Suzanne teaches women how to succeed with men in life and in love by rejecting the concept of sexual equality and embracing male and female nature instead. Suzanne is a columnist at the Washington Examiner
and a contributor at Fox News and at The Federalist. Her 2012 article, “The War on Men,” remains one of Fox News’ most read op-eds in history. Suzanne’s work has appeared in publications such as Time, USA Today, Parents and the New York Post and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The Atlantic, Forbes, The Huffington Post and London’s Daily Mail. Her TV credits include Fox & Friends, STOSSEL, The View, CNN, ABC and more. She has appeared on hundreds of radio programs throughout the country, and her work has been featured on “The Dr. Laura Program,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “The Rush Limbaugh Show.” Suzanne lives in the midwest with her husband of 21 years and their two teenagers, one of whom is in college
