Accessibility & Usability: Equality of Experience
Accessibility is more than a checkbox for development. It’s the foundation of usability. In this talk, we will cover how the myths of accessibility have impacted us here at Cerner. Through these myths, we will demonstrate how UX and development have worked together to achieve an accessible product and the importance of crafting equally awesome experiences for all of our users.
About the Speakers
Dr Becca Green is a Sr. Creative Lead of Human Factors Research, where she has been promoting usability and user-centered design for desktop and mobile applications for the past 4 years. Dr. Green’s work on providing great clinical health experiences has been recognized by User Experience Awards and Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Product Design Group. Her recent efforts have been to advance awareness of accessibility and regulatory safety to the healthcare software industry.
Amber Wilks is a Creative Lead with the User Experience team here at Cerner. She has spent the last 8 years in the field of User Experience. She has worked across many platforms at Cerner and has been working to align Cerner’s design standards.
