2013 STi Build Part 10 - Timing Install How To

With all of the camshafts and timing gears installed, the belt was next to do. Tyler opted for a Cosworth performance timing belt. You could feel and actually smell the difference of this belt. With low mileage on the timing components, only the belt and one idler were changed at this time.

The Company 23 timing cam lock tool makes the job much easier. I've succeeded in the past without the tool many times, glad I have it for the future. Other than maintaining the camshaft positions on the left hand side cylinder head, the belt replacement is fairly straight forward. Timing should be double checked even by an experienced person to prevent incorrect assembly.

Thanks for watching! Now that the long block is assembled, I can concentrate on getting the manifolds and turbo in place. Getting closer to dropping the engine back into the STi. STAY TUNED!
