2023 CDS Homecoming Event Research Lightning Talks
Celebrating a Milestone: NYU CDS Alumni Homecoming! We recently marked a special occasion for the NYU Center for Data Science — our 10-year anniversary, commemorated with this year's Alumni Homecoming event.
This video includes the engaging Research Lightning Talks that took place during the event:
The talks included:
1. Umang Bhatt presenting on "Algorithmic Transparency in Machine Learning."
2. Cory McCartan presenting on "Algorithms for Studying Redistricting."
3. Vishakh Padmakumar presenting on "Does Writing With Language Models (LLMs) Reduce Content Diversity?"
4. Pascal Wallisch presenting on "The Data Science of Music."
5. Falaah Arif Khan concluded by presenting on "Normative foundations of algorithmic fairness."
We extend our thanks to all who attended and contributed to the rich discussions. Your engagement helps our community grow stronger. Here's to more years of advancing the field of data science!
We also want to thank the CDS Alumni Council for everything they do, and the CDS Alumni Network, which has over 900 alumni from our degree programs including undergraduates, masters, and PhDs, for staying in touch.
