The Rest is Mystery: The Enzian Inn in Leavenworth, Wasington

Is Leavenworth, Washington a real place? That’s a question I get quite often about the setting of my Sloan Krause Mysteries.

Believe it or not, like Ashland, OR (the setting for my Bakeshop Mystery Series and my home), Leavenworth (@visitleavenworthwa) is very much real! This beautiful village has about 2,000 full-time residents, is situated in the picturesque mountain ranges of northern Washington, and is fully decorated to resemble a Bavarian town.

Even as a writer, it’s hard to put into words just how beautiful Leavenworth, the shops and restaurants, and the surrounding mountains are, so I thought I’d show you instead. In celebration of the release of the latest book in my Sloan Krause Mysteries, BEYOND A REASONABLE STOUT, I’ll be sharing a few videos I made while visiting Leavenworth on one of my research trips for the book.

I’ll be returning to Leavenworth again next month for several events to mark the release of the book, meet with readers, and share some fun Sloan-inspired surprises with those who stop by. See below for when/where I’ll be while I’m back in Sloan’s neck of the woods. 🍻
