Federal cuts leave Kansas City public broadcasters scrambling to fill budget gaps
Public radio and television broadcasters in Kansas City are bracing for major financial shortfalls after the loss of federal funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. At KCUR, the city’s NPR affiliate, the cuts leave a $500,000 hole in the budget. Kansas City PBS (KCPT) faces an even steeper challenge, nearly $2 million in lost funding.
