Fuel prices in Hanoi have surged past $1 per litre, triggering panic buying and long queues at gas stations across the Vietnamese capital. Several fuel stations were forced to shut early or limit sales as demand spiked.

Authorities in Vietnam have urged residents to avoid hoarding fuel and asked businesses to adopt work-from-home arrangements to reduce consumption. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has also reached out to Gulf nations to secure additional oil supplies as global energy markets react to the escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
