How to Apply Oil-Based Paint on Built-In Cabinets | sunnysideupstairs

Oil-based paint is not often used by homeowners due to the added clean-up steps, the strong smells of the paint, and the difficulty of getting a quality finish. After testing out oil-based semi-gloss enamel paint beside water-based gloss latex enamel, I found I preferred the finish the oil-based paint as compared to the water-based gloss. Over a period of 3 weeks, I tested out ways to paint a built-in cabinet in my home using oil-based paint, and through trial and error, achieved the best finish I could muster, summarized in 15 tips.
